Milverton Agricultural Society
Mission/Mandate Statement
The
Milverton Agricultural Society is a volunteer-driven, community-minded,
registered non-profit charitable organization. The objective of
the Society is to encourage an awareness of agriculture and the
environment by providing opportunities, education and improvements
to the quality of life for all citizens.
The Society fulfils this goal each year by holding the
Milverton Fair, something that has been done faithfully since 1862.
The tradition of the Fall Fair provides a venue where local citizens
can show their quality livestock, fruits and vegetables, flowers
and handiwork to friends, family and neighbours who can also enjoy
the many other activities that are available to fair-goers. The
fact that many of our citizens, young and old, have fond memories
of the event is something we are very proud of and take to heart.
In addition to the annual fair, the Milverton Agricultural Society
is proud to sponsor the 4-H beef and horse clubs in the area. The
Society also donated the land for the construction of the Perth
East Recreation Complex which was completed in 2003.
