2010 Highlights:

147th Milverton Fair takes place on September 17, 18 & 19, 2010.

Our Theme this year is “GO LOCAL” – Our People, Our Products, Our Passion.

We’ve added a variety of new events and activities at the Fair this year.  Plan now to come on down and check it out!

The Exhibit Hall and our Royalty Competition will proceed on Friday Night along with a Youth “AIR BAND” Competition all starting at 7pm.  The vendor market & displays will also be open.

On Saturday, September 18th, our Inflatables Area is growing and will include the Joust & Rock Climbing Wall – both back by popular demand. All of our inflatables are being generously sponsored by local businesses and organizations and will be open for your enjoyment from 10am until 7pm!  There will be Clowns and a Juggler on Stilts on the Grounds throughout the day for entertainment.  The Junior Directors will once again host a Youth Zone with free activities for kids. Our Food Booth & Beer Gardens will be open all day.

 The Western Horse, 4-H Acheivement Day & Beef Show will be in the ring on Saturday. We are introducing a Round Bale Tear for kids & a COW PIE BINGO – both available on Saturday & Sunday.  The Baby Show and Mini Pedal Tractor Pull will both be back.

On Saturday afternoon, we are introducing a NEW Farmer’s Olympics.  This is a relay style event for adults 18 & up culminating with a TUG-O-WAR.  Get your CO-ED team together and bring your strength and agility to toss a bale, fling ‘dung’, and use a buck-saw. 

Our Stock Farm & Antique Tractor Pull is moving to Saturday Night.There will be a Wing Night by the Milverton Snowmobile Club along with the Beer Garden by the Lions Club.A NEW CO-ED BEACH Volleyball Tournament for ages 16 & up will be held Saturday Night.

There will be a Fireman’s Breakfast at the Fire Hall on Sunday, September 19th from 8am – 1pm.Wagon Rides to and from the Hall & Fair Grounds will start at 11am.

Sunday will feature a NEW Antique Tractor & Engine Show starting at 11am.Back by popular demand, the ATV, Lawn & Garden Tractor Pulls will start at noon. At 2:30pm the Milverton Fire Department will put on an Auto Extrication Demonstration using their JAWS-of-LIFE to tear apart four vehicles.

The Annual Fair Book will be available at the Milverton Library, Post Office & Carter’s Variety very soon.

The Fair Schedule of Events will also be in the Shopportunities just before the Fair.

a little tip – Be sure to get the Shopportunities this week and the next three.  Collect the 4 coloured “Fair Flyers” and bring them to the Fair to earn Food Booth Bucks.  You can also earn a Market Buck by filling out the Famre’s Market Survey on this weeks flyer and taking it down to the Farmer’s Market tomorrow.  Use it to buy a scrumptious pie!!!
